All clothing must cover the ‘Aura. The ‘Aura for men extends from above the navel to below the knee. Shorts which expose the knees are prohibited. Islam encourages us to wear decent clothing out of the bounty that Allah has provided for us. We prohibit ripped clothing and pants worn low enough to expose a person’s underwear. We encourage all clothing to be clean and fresh-smelling. Let there be no profanity or human figures on the clothing.
All clothing must cover the ‘Aura. The ‘Aura for women extends over the entire body except for the hands, face and feet. Hijabs, long sleeve shirts, and full length lower garments are mandated. According to the concept of Hijab, we also mandate that all clothing must be loose with no cleavage exposed. We would like to remind you that the neck, ears and chest must also be covered by the hijab.
Use of Electronic Devices
Students are prohibited from bringing all electronic devices to school except for cell phones (and laptops if needed for a presentation). Cell phones must be turned off at all times during class. You are permitted to use them during breaks and after school. If these rules are not followed, NWIS reserves the right to take your device away.
It is your responsibility to take care of your personal belongings, textbooks, and stationary. Please ensure you hang up your jacket and coats and keep your shoes on the rack, not on the floor.
Fire and Emergency
There are 4 exits for the Musallah-Youth Center complex that can be used in case of an emergency. You should be familiar with the Men’s Main Entrance, Women’s Entrance and the Youth Center Entrance. There is also an emergency exit at the back of the complex that can be accessed through the men’s bathroom as well as through the Youth Center’s back hallway. Please remain calm during an emergency and WALK to the nearest exit. Leave personal items and evacuate immediately after hearing the alarm. Stay with your class and follow all directions given by your teacher.
