Parent Resources
"And We have enjoined upon mankind [care] for their parents."
SurahLuqman (31:14)
Welcome, Dear Parents
Assalamu Alaikum,
At NorthWest Islamic School, we believe that education is a shared journey – and parents are at the very
heart of it. You are your child’s first teacher, greatest role model, and most important advocate. The
work you do at home reinforces everything we do in the classroom, and together, In Shaa Allah, we can
raise a generation that brings light to the world.
Parent Responsibilities
Parents and guardians are vital partners in our educational mission. We ask all parents to:
● Ensure their child attends school regularly and on time.
● Review and support homework and learning activities at home.
● Communicate respectfully and promptly with teachers and staff.
● Attend parent-teacher meetings and school events.
● Uphold and reinforce the school's code of conduct and Islamic values at home.
● Keep emergency contact and medical information up to date.
● Notify the school of any changes in family circumstances that may affect the child's learning or
well-being.
Parent Involvement Opportunities
We warmly invite parents to contribute their time, skills, and energy to the school community.

Tips for Supporting Islamic Learning at Home
Even 10 minutes of recitation or listening together builds lasting love for
the Quran.
Teach and practise du-as for eating, sleeping, travelling, and studying.
Ask your child about their Saturday lessons – let them be the teacher at
home!
Build an Islamic library at home with age-appropriate books on Seerah, Prophets
stories, and Islamic values.
Children learn most from what they see. Let them witness your prayer,
kindness, honesty, and community engagement.
A quiet, dedicated area for homework and Quran practice helps children
focus and feel special about their studies.
Acknowledge milestones – a new surah memorized, a kind act reported
by a teacher, or a good test result.
