Anti-Bullying Policy
NorthWest Islamic School has a zero-tolerance policy for bullying of any kind – physical, verbal, social, or
cyber. Islam teaches us that the honour of every human being is sacred. Any student who engages in
bullying behaviour will face progressive disciplinary action, including parent notification, counselling,
suspension, and, in severe cases, expulsion. We encourage all students to report bullying immediately to
a teacher or staff member. Reports will be taken seriously and handled with care and confidentiality.
Health & Safety Policy
● The school maintains first aid supplies on-site and trained first aid responders among staff.
● All medical conditions, allergies, and medications must be disclosed on the Emergency Contact; Medical Information Form.
● Children who are ill or symptomatic (fever, vomiting, contagious conditions) must stay home. The school reserves the right to send a child home if they appear unwell.
● In case of a medical emergency, the school will call emergency services immediately and contact parents/guardians as soon as possible.
● Fire drills and emergency procedures are practised regularly.
Photography & Media Consent Policy
NWIS may photograph or video-record students during school activities for use in newsletters, social
media, the school website, and promotional materials. No media will be captured or published without
prior parental consent. Parents must complete the Media Consent Form (see Forms section). Consent
may be withdrawn at any time in writing.
Conflict Resolution Policy
We believe in resolving concerns through open, respectful dialogue rooted in Islamic principles of consultation (shura) and reconciliation (islah). If a parent, student, or staff member has a concern:
Step 1: Speak directly with the relevant teacher or staff member to address the concern informally.
Step 2: If unresolved, submit a Conflict Resolution Form (Parent or Teacher version, see Formssection) to the school office.
Step 3: The school administration will review the matter and respond within 5 business days.
Step 4: If further resolution is needed, a meeting will be arranged with all relevant parties and a neutral mediator if appropriate.
Privacy & Data Protection
NorthWest Islamic School is committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of all
students, families, and staff. All personal data collected during enrollment and school operations is used solely for educational and administrative purposes. Information is stored securely and is never shared
with third parties without explicit consent, except where required by law. Families have the right to
access, correct, or request the deletion of their personal information by contacting the school office.
